Professor Tudorel Toader, PhD
Professor Tudorel Toader, PhD (born 25 March 1960, in Vulturu (Vrancea County, Romania) is a Romanian lawyer and professor. Between 1982 and 1986, Toader studied law at "Al. I. Cuza" University of Iasi. In 2006 he was appointed judge at the Constitutional Court of Romania by the Chamber of Deputies for a year and was re-appointed in 2007 to serve in that capacity until 2016. Tudorel Toader was Minister of Justice from 23 February 2017 to 24 April 2019. Former Minister of Justice, university professor, Rector of "Al.I. Cuza" University of Iasi, member of the Superior Council of the Magistracy (since February 2017), member of the Scientific Council of the National Institute of the Magistracy (2004-2017), judge at the Constitutional Court of Romania between 2006- 2016 and member of the Venice Commission.
Over time, Mrs. Marieta Safta held several positions: assistant magistrate, in the period 2003-2009, chief assistant magistrate, in the period 2009-2010, head of the Legal Service within the Ministry of Public Finances - General Directorate of Finances Public Prosecutor of the Municipality of Bucharest between 2001 and 2003, legal advisor at the same institution between 1997 and 2001. In the past, Mrs. Marieta Safta also held the position of Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice (2017-2018) and Liaison Agent of the Constitutional Court to the Venice Commission (2012-2017). Currently, Mrs. Marieta Safta is teaching at the Faculty of Law of Titu Maiorescu University, being a tenured professor in the disciplines of Constitutional Law and Political Institutions. She is also an associate teacher at the Academy of Economic Studies of Bucharest - Faculty of Law, in the field of constitutional law and political institutions and a member of the Doctoral School - Law within the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
University Professor Verginia Vedinaș acquired the title of graduate in "Economic and Administrative Law" in 1984 and that of graduate in "Law" in 1992, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest. Her academic concerns went beyond the sphere of law and, in 2005, as she obtained the title of Doctor of Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Bucharest with the work “Deontological Values in public life”. Also, the Doctor University Professor has published over 200 articles and specialized studies, participating in conferences in the country and abroad. Also, Professor's training was completed through several post-graduate specializations followed at prestigious institutions abroad: the International Institute of Luxembourg in 1994, the Institute of Federalism in Friborg, Switzerland (1997, 1998), and the Academy of Public Law in Athens, Greece. Professor Verginia Vedinaș is a founding member and president of the "Paul Negulescu" Institute of Administrative Sciences. Regarding the activity of legal publishing, Mrs. Professor stood out, being a member of the management committees of some specialized publications.
Professor Ovidiu Predescu is the director of "Dreptul/The Law" publications, honorary scientific researcher of the Legal Research Institute “Academy Andrei Radulescu” of the Romanian Academy, honorary member of the Diplomatic Academy in London, as well as vice-president of the Union of Jurists from Romania and of the Professor Romanian Association of Criminal Sciences. Over time he has published, as sole author or in collaboration, law books (treaties, monographs, courses, textbooks), these being, mainly, the fruit of the experiences accumulated as a magistrate, university, scientific researcher, and editor of some legal publications. At the same time, he is the author or co-author of over 200 studies and articles, especially in the field of criminal law and human rights. He has also published books of spiritual knowledge, thoughts, and fiction. For his scientific and publishing activity, Professor Ovidiu Predescu was rewarded with numerous awards and distinctions from prestigious institutions.
